The Cutest Dog Stuff!!!!

I was fortunate enough to be stationed across from this SUPER TALENTED crafter at a recent show. Katie, from Tree Parlor was such a delight to not only meet..but also commiserate with. (The show was just so so) For me, one of the silver linings of the experience was getting to meet and enjoy Katie, and her really SWEET, very well made dog items.

One of the items I really thought was clever were the "Mommy and Me" matching headbands and collars. I mean come on....that's just ridiculously cute.

Katie takes a lot of time and pride in her work. Her Saddle Wags are
up cycled T-shirts. Some with your favorite Team on them, Some are just simple, and some are reminiscent of racing jersey's.

Also...The Snood.
Doesn't you puppy deserve to be warm and cozy in the cold winter months. Katie has a slew of different color choices, and she will custom make one for your pup. (Look at that face)

Be sure to check her out online at: http://treeparlor.com,on Etsy and she will also be at the Indie Craft Parade in Greeville, SC. Sept 10 & 11th. DON"T miss her. She's just as cute as her dog fashions!

Upcoming Shows

WOW......this weekend Sugar is undertaking it's biggest show to date. The Upstate Womens Show. 8000 women or more expected to attend. To say I'm a bit nervous is an understatement. Honored as well. I hope everyone will love what Sugar has to offer. Sweet, simple, handmade clothing. I just love what I get to do everyday. And...even though I don't always seem to radiate it..I am blessed.

I would also like to talk about the show I'm doing Labor Day weekend. In Highlands... A friend of mine (Cynthia Strain) puts on a FABULOUS show, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. And, I am OH SO LUCKY to be a part of it. Wonderful artist and crafters abound. Be sure to check it out...Saturday, and Sunday. Labor Day weekend. Pine Street Park, Highlands North Carolina.

Of course you can always find me at Cashiers Village Hillside Cottages.

And last but most certainly not least, I would like to take the opportunity to THANK the amazing women who support me in my endeavor.

Natalie, Vick, Stephanie, Susan, and...of course my MOM (Ann). Thank you so much for your willingness to do...well pretty much anything. Stitch, listen to me bitch, make buttons, man my shop, pick up random items..this list is really endless. Thank you for supporting, and believing in Sugar. Without you, I'm just a good idea. I love you guys.

Now..come out and shop!

4th of July Weekend

It was a really fun weekend at the Cashiers Hillside Shops this weekend. AND! I was lucky enough to meet these "sweet" three girls.

They happened to walk up when I was assembling my pony tail holders, and just went right to work with me. It was great! I loved the help, and just getting to chat a few minutes with them.
So, as payment, I let them each choose a pony tail holder of their choice.

THANK YOU GUYS! IT WAS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU!

Feel free to stop by the "Sugar Shack" anytime.

Sugar Mascots

Sometimes I start to feel sorry for myself. I mean most people would think I've got it made, I work from home, and I do what I love. That I am grateful for. But..sometimes, I just feel sort of alone....disconnected, forgotten, unappreciated. And about that time.....

I look over and see these two. I know they're so cute. And they are not even mine. I am lucky enough to have a good friend of mine, Mike who (by chance) moved in next door. And with him came these two. About the time they leave for work, Pabst (yes the beer) and Te Bo (not sure if thats spelled right) Can be found making the morning wake up,.. your coffee's not that important,... give me a goodie call. They are the best! We go for walks, have major scratch sessions, and an occasional nap together. All the perks of having a dog but, at the end of the day off they go. Well...except for when they smell the grill, or hear the refrigerator door open.

Cape? I don't need no stinken cape!

Well...after the hard work on the cape, this is the outfit Olive wanted to wear to the party. Maybe I should have made the cape in pink? Never the less we had a blast. My dearest, bestest friend Natalie and I sat up making cupcakes, and tissue paper flowers until...... Her exact quote of my decorating skills was, "it looks like Bozo threw up in here." Well, Olive was impressed!

Welcome to my blog!!

Thanks for visiting.....is anyone there???? :) Not yet I'm sure but someday..
My name is Caroline, I own a "sweet, simple, handmade" line of children's clothing and accessoires named Sugar.

I love, love love, to sew and create. It's what I go to bed at night thinking about (ok, not always), and wake up to. I only started sewing about 5 years ago, but as a child I had the pleasure of being left to my own devices in my grandmothers scraps. I used to sit for hours constructing new outfits for my barbies, and crocheting enormously lone lines of yarn. Sad to say I never learned how to crochet. (I have to put that on my to do list).

I have the best memories of the little jumpers my grandmother used to make us every spring. I think we use to get 3 every year for summer. And..growing up mostly on a farm they were all we wore. You will actually find one of those jumpers (daisy) in my line. Fashioned very much like the one's my grandmother made. Same pattern only modified...a bit.

O.K. Off to work. I have to finish a cape for my god-daughters birthday this weekend. This has been such a fun project. I can't wait to see her face when she opens it.

Have a beautiful day everyone! Let's say a prayer for NO MORE SNOW! WHEW!

Caroline
